The Real Africa
I hate how some people think Africa is a forrest with half naked people running around all day killing animals n shit.
Its so frustrating to see how some American filmmakers paint Africa like that.
Like we don’t have buildings and lights… Like we don’t have restaurants and coffee shops.
…and they have the nerve to steal our African shine, by having “Jennifer Hudson” act as Winnie Mandela. Who better to talk, walk and look like an African than an American. Why of course.. it is an American production after all.
…but that’s not the biggest matter at hand.
Africa loves nature, being natural is not funny. African cultures are not funny. The way we speak is not funny.
I’m an African. We’re all different but alike. I’m human.
There is so much craziness/evil in this world… but it breaks my heart that something as catastrophic as the famine in east Africa is nowhere to be found on top news for the past 30 days. At least 900 mothers, daughters, sons, fathers, grandparents, friends, leaders… dying each day due to lack of food, water, and medical aid. Have we become numb to the needs of Africa? #EndFamine www.ashleighbrady.com
